SLP. – A meeting was held between personnel from the Specialized Human Rights Prosecutor’s Office, the state Secretary of Labor and Social Prevention, and the U.S. Department of Labor.

During the meeting, the strategies and collaboration between institutions to prevent human trafficking in the form of forced labor in the four zones of San Luis Potosi were discussed.

Arturo Gómez Martínez, head of this specialized Prosecutor’s Office, informed that, by instruction of the State Attorney General, José Luis Ruiz Contreras, the institution is focused on reducing the response time of Public Ministries, PDI agents and experts involved in these cases.

Esteban Pérez Mendieta, from the Unit Against the Crimes of Human Trafficking and Torture, explained the actions that have been carried out since 2019 when this entity was created, the success stories, in addition to the protocol that is applied in the entity.

Likewise, Dr. Mary Carol Elison, Labor Attaché of the Embassy of the United States, offered her support to train personnel involved in the issue in order to join efforts for the eradication of human trafficking.

The Department of Labor joins these tasks, through Juan Ignacio Silos Castro, general director of that state agency.
